The Beautiful Beaches of York Maine - United States


Maine York is one of the oldest cities in the United States, with the settlements in the 17th century.


But the long and rich history of the city is not the only tourist attraction. York also offers great opportunities for shopping, hiking trails, lush parks, world-class restaurants, and finally (and certainly no less), settled its spectacular coastline of beautiful beaches. Located on the coast, York is blessed with many sandy stretches, but some of them easy, out from the rest because of their unique and wonderful features.

The 1.5-mile Sands Beach is undoubtedly one of the most popular beaches of York. Long Sands beach is known to be a very hospitable, there all day and all night, open seven days a week. Families are in this long, white sand beach because of its services, such as lifeguards, metered parking and restaurants, as well as tightened its short distance to the shops and restaurants.

Long Sands Beach is known as a surfing beach, suitable for beginners and experienced surfers.


Surfing equipment and lessons, the Liquid Dreams Surf Shop. A visit to this beach also offers wonderful views of the Cape Neddick Lighthouse (Nubble Lighthouse). Sunbathing is not a problem, as long Sands has barely a shadow. But when the sun and the heat, you can to always rent a chair and umbrella for protection.

Located in the village of York Beach, Short Sands Beach in Ellis Park is a family quarter mile long beach with lots of parking, outdoor showers and toilets. And if you get bored with the beach, you can always sweating head out to the golf and basketball games. During the summer months Short Sands is alive because of its fantastic evening concerts and entertainment shows will be held in the pavilion area, organized by the Ellis Park Foundation.

Short Sands boardwalk is also a crowd pleaser because the banks strategically located mainly and offers an unobstructed view of the sea. Short Sands is also a nice accessible beach, with restaurants and shops within walking distance from the sandy beach. If you can not drive to Shorts Sands, you can take the trolley York service, which up to this beach.

Harbor Beach is one of the main beaches in York. This sandy beach, on a rocky coastline is protected from large waves. If you want to dive the time on the coast, Puerto beach is an excellent destination as it is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. E 'is equipped with toilets and lifeguard season. The only downside of the Harbor Beach is that parking is limited, although it is free. If you want to go for some short Adventures Hiking, harbor beach is surrounded by interesting hiking trails.
